Rendcomb College A-Level Success

A STRONG SET OF A-LEVEL RESULTS FOR RENDCOMB COLLEGE PUPILS

With 41% of pupils achieving A*-A and 65% achieving A*-B, this year’s cohort has done particularly well under the backdrop of tougher marking and the first set of results achieved under 2 normally taught academic years since 2019. What is even more impressive is that this is a cohort, for whom A-Levels were the first set of invigilated public exams that they have sat, having had 2 years of home-schooling and teacher-assessed grades.

In fact, Rendcomb College has seen a sizeable increase in A*-A grades this year in comparison to 2019’s results, showing that despite the trials of the past 3 years, academic standing has increased at the school.

Of particular note Alexandra S and Emilia M both achieved 2 A*, A and an A* in their Extended Project Qualifications. Emilia will be going on to study Law at University of Oxford, and Alexandra will be studying Psychology with a professional placement at University of Bath.  Ruairi EJ achieved 2 A* and 2 A at A-Level, and he will be going on to study an MChem at Durham University.

Emilia M has secured her place to study law at University of Oxford

Max T, a budding musician, achieved 2 A and a Distinction* in Music VQ and will be heading off to University of the West of England.

Debjit M is off to study Medicine at Kent and Medway to fulfil her passion to become a Medical Doctor.

BTEC results were also strong at Rendcomb College with Business and Business Diploma pupils achieving 8 Distinctions, 2 Merits and 1 Distinction*

Head of College Rob Jones commented,

“This is very good set of results for Rendcomb College. The hard work the pupils have put in over the past two years has really paid off and they are rightly justified in feeling extremely proud of themselves, as am I of them. I think it says a lot that 83% of our pupils achieved their first choice of University place”
Rob continues “Rendcomb College has changed quite a bit over the past 5 years with us really focusing in on our values of Thoughtful, Adventurous and Ambitious. It is great to see this hard work paying off in establishing ourselves as a leading Gloucestershire Independent School, and enabling our fabulous pupils to go out into the world and do great things”
