The Benefits of Flexible Boarding

Rendcomb College, based in the heart of the Cotswolds, is an independent school for boys and girls, offering flexible boarding options to pupils aged 11 and over. This includes full, weekly, selective night and occasional boarding, as well as late stay, giving both parents and pupils plenty of schedule flexibility. There are many benefits of boarding school for pupils who stay with us - from the community, we offer to the support we provide. Here are some of the top benefits that boarding at Rendcomb College offers.

Family Living

We have four boarding houses, all of which enjoy the same home-from-home feeling, with a friendly, family atmosphere. An ideal setting for all pupils to thrive and develop under the guidance of their dedicated Houseparents and their pastoral and domestic teams. Both Day pupils and Boarders share the same Houses, enabling strong friendships and comradery to flourish among all pupils throughout the College.

Activities and Clubs

A fun and an extensive programme of activities run by our Boarding Team, with activities throughout the week designed specifically for the House. With classmates, friends and siblings staying too, homework is supervised, the daily commute is reduced and the College facilities are open for organised social events and sports. Within the House, pupils enjoy pizza nights, baking, playing games, watching TV and simply being part of the wider boarding community.

Great Facilities

The four boarding houses at Rendcomb College are located on the school’s campus and within easy reach of classrooms and sports facilities. Each with their own character and style, the Houses offer an ideal setting for all pupils to thrive and develop under the guidance of the Houseparents and their pastoral and domestic teams.

Pupils can board when they join the Senior School in Year 7 through to Sixth Form. From Year 10 upwards, all boarders have their own modern, comfortable study bedrooms which can be personalised, whilst the younger pupils share dormitories with two or three other students.

Dedicated Team

We are a family and when a day pupil stays late or overnight, they are staying at their home-from-home with their friends, caring Houseparents and their excellent pastoral teams. Our aim is to create a family feel within each of our four boarding houses. Many of our team have a background in teaching making them the perfect people to guide boarders through their life and education.

Parent’s Peace of Mind

We understand how important it is for parents to know that their children are happy, safe and taken care of. This is why we offer different types of boarding, with flexi-boarding often being the perfect option for parents who need that little extra bit of flexibility in their lives to manage a busy working schedule. If something pops up or you can’t get away from the office, our service offers you peace of mind, knowing that your children are looked after even when you’re not there.
