Nursery

Moving up to Junior School

Throughout your child’s time in Nursery they will have a number of opportunities to interact with the older children of the Junior School, including Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.

Whilst we know it’s a long way away, we see the Junior School as a family environment and as such we encourage all year groups to interact with each other, whether this be through Forest School sessions, planned activities or the Christmas Nativity play. This helps Nursery pupils to move up to Reception seamlessly, already interacting with the older year groups and their teachers.

Current Nursery families are invited to meet with the Head of Juniors during the Michaelmas Term for an information morning and the opportunity to tour the Junior School and Reception classroom areas. Families are then encouraged to book a private appointment with the Head of Juniors before the end of this term to discuss the next steps and the transition from Nursery to Reception for their child.

During the following Lent Term, families will receive a letter inviting them to complete our Acceptance Form and pay the Acceptance Deposit (£250) to confirm their place into Reception for the following September.
